The Four Women Vote for the Peace Resolution

Its official.

The Teaneck Council now has passed an official meaningless resolution asking the NJ Senate, to ask the Governor, to ask the President, to bring home the troops.

In a 4-3 vote, the Council passed the peace coalition's resolution.

Mayor Farker was the deciding vote and Councilman Gussen was the most vocal against. Gussen demanded to know who wrote the resolution, why was it not discussed at a workshop, how did it get on the agenda and so on. It was a great Council show and I am sure now that the Peace Coalition have Farker wrapped around their pinky, they will be back for more.

Stay tuned.

Oh I get it, you're insulting Feit by calling him a woman because everyone knows that women are not cut out to be leaders like men.

Clever.

The headline was something I would expect from a foolish teenager. You should be ashamed of yourself. And if you had any self respect, you would delete the post.

Team Katz wants revenge on our Mayor Feit and gets it by calling him a woman.

Katz, Gussen and Rude don't have a pair of cajones between the three of them.

Feit has my respect for listening to Teaneck voters.

The headline is a bit much, but I am also disappointed in Feit and the council for taking a vote on something that I just don't think is appropriate for a town council.

How about a resolution showing strong support for the troops and their missions to build peace in Iraq, conquer the Taliban in Afghanistan, and finally get Bin Ladin for both its strategic and symbolic significance.

Did Hameedudin vote against? He spoke out strongly against the war in the campaign.

i don't get it. the resolution as i understand it doesn't have anything to do with bringing the troops home. i thought it was concerned only with the NJ national guard being called up to duty when there's been no official declaration of war. seems as though protecting the missuse of our NJ guard is a local issue, no?

An article about the debate at the mosque said Hamedudin would suport a vote against the war in Iraq. I don't think Rudolph ever answered the question.

Glad to see that the comments against this resolution have been nothing but character assassination, right-wing looney talking points, and played out racial stereotypes. Way to bolster your opinions! Great job.

How about some sane arguments?

This appears to be a meaningless vote which only serves to make the council look foolish. This is way beyond their jurisdiction. It would have made more sense for the council to adopt a resolution to organize the town to send care packages to local troops fighting this ridiculous war.

By the time the council's 'message' makes its way to the President, he will be out of office. What a foolish waste of time.
