REWARD IF FOUND: Where is Katz?

Is it just me or is Katz missing in action.

I saw him march at the parade on the 4th.

I heard he was at the workshop meeting last week yet I have not seen him around town or gotten any emails from him.

Is he in the same obscure place as Ostrow has been for the last two years. Is there a Mayors hiding place in town? Are Paul, Jackie and Katz playing Majong in Miami together?

If someone sees him, tell him to email or post something so we know he is alive.I read a nice article this week in the Jewish Standard about Mayor Farker. Seems like they are settling in to the position.

What action items can we expect? We have seen many years of increased taxes and stagnant services.

Will there be any new proposals put forward.

What ideas can we give the Council that we as a community would like, other then banning certain people from the meetings.

Elie is playing with his boys and enjoying time with Esther. Jackie is working at FDU and on the film festival, dining with Mickey and her family. Paul has been active with library board and other boards and traveling with Ricki. They all have busy lives, loving and large families, many out of town friends and destinations and need not show up at photo ops....they each put in much time.

Hey...why don't you cut the former mayors a break? I agree fully with anon. 6:40 A.M. Why do they name parks and roads in honor of them? They put in many hours a week for peanuts; council meetings, planning board, ribbon cuttings, they deal with the press, home phone calls, daily mail, committees, they perform wedddings, attend wakes, shivas and funerals and have little free time. They each deserve our gratutude, not condemnation.
Elie, Jackie and Paul led this town well for a combined total of a dozen years. I appreciate all that effort and dedication....we all should.

Being mayor can probably be thankless....dealing with ceaseless complaints, the good and welfare loud mouths and nuts, being expected to "show up" even after holding office, getting named in phony law suits, no time for relaxation...esp. in Teaneck.

The first three commenters are quite right.

Elie certainly has done a huge amount for Teaneck.

He has a right to pull his horns in and do only as much as an ordinary Council member for a change.

I am sure he will do his share to keep things from falling totally apart in town.

We had a strong Mayor in a weak system.

Now we will have a chance to watch something else.

Maybe Katz can learn from Honis. He should unlist his telephone number and not resppond to emails.I hear Mayor Farker does not respond to all his emails and calls.

Teaneck is the Bergen town where those involved mostly complain, accuse, threaten and bellyache.
People are always suspicious, angry, unhappy or disturbed.

Only on the Cramerist side.

The good people are too nice; all the bad ones never shut up.

The good people stay home, pay taxes, enjoy life and don't complain. The malcontents are always present, spewing from their pie holes.

The first few comments here are the most accurate and poignant. Ostrow, Kates and Katz were, still are, dedicated public servants with poise, insight, intelligence and sense. They have guided aspects of this large township for thirty plus years collectively. Sometimes during very turbulent and problem events and periods. The ambulance corps, the board of education, planning board, economic development, community relations, council and countless other areas of involvement. They are three examples of what any religious or even non religious group of people....Jews, Christians or Muslums should do...give back to community, care for humanity and do good things. They have.

Here, here, anon. 12:38.
Amen.

Teaneck Truth,
you must have too much time on your hands or you are still mourning Katz's decision not to be mayor. Move on with something constructive for the town.

Teaneck Truth...
I happen to know Jackie Kates and Paul Ostrow. (I don't know Elie Katz very well but he is still an active and caring councilman.) Jackie and Paul are very heavily involved in the fabric of this town...they are two very busy, giving, intelligent givers to life; not takers. They are involved in family, volunteering and contributing and also enjoying many interests & large networks of so many friends and associates. They are not "sitting around playing mahjong"; they are continuing to help others, giving, building and growing. Shame on you; your comment is unfounded and not funny.

Get real. It was not his decision just as it was not Jackie's decision two years ago.

It was Elie's decision. Feit committed to voting for Katz if he chose to put himself forward a second time.

Let's see how a Mayor does with seven votes instead of four.

If the Cramerists shut up, it'll be one thing. If they continue their attacks, Teaneck will continue to suffer.

Right now we have the switchover to private Public Works collecting that will knock 8 off the huge roster of Public Works employees in our town. Deputy Mayor Parker has opposed this. How does that portend for her "team work" now that the team is not headed by Katz?

Feit is playing with fire by opening the issue of super majorities in the MOST issue.

He will learn that he cannot count on a fifth vote from the Cramerist crew.

Deputy Mayor Parker needs to recuse herself from the public vs. private trash and recyclable collection vote. She is very up front that as a Civil Servant, she can't support the privatization concept. I believe it would be appropriate for her to recuse.

Teaneck "democrat’s” characterization of Ms. Parker's view is imaginative but not reflective of statements she has made at council meetings. Nor is it relevant to the subject of trash collection as this is already a private function. The notion that she should recuse herself is absurd. Four votes are required to pass any ordinance or resolution. An abstention is the equivalent of a negative vote and should only be used when there is a clear legal requirement.

This is great info to know.
